JAPANESE TATTOO ILUSTRATIONS BONTEN TARO
Tattoo Illustrations is a collection of works by Bonten Taro, an artist who
has been active in various fields such as tattoo artist, manga artist, drama artist, painter, and designer with his unique sensibility. Bonten Taro was one of the earliest artists to introduce "multi-color tattooing" and "machine tattooing" and worked hard to "popularize tattoos" by erasing the negative image of tattoos. He is also famous for his collaboration with Issey Miyake and Junko Koshino on "tattoo fashion." Bonten Taro, who was not only a tattooist, had more than 20 live-in apprentices, and even after moving to Okinawa, he established the Bonten Skin Art School and devoted himself to mentoring the next generation of tattooists. This book is a collection of works published in 1973 in a limited edition of 1,000 copies, and as the title suggests, it is a large volume that contains artistic works by many tattooists. Texts by poet Mitsuharu Kaneko and others. Edition number included.
